Green Turtles are found throughout tropical waters. In Indonesia there are a few places which have large populations of Green Turtles. The Gili Islands off the coast of Lombok are referred to the Turtle Capital of the world. I actually think the Bunaken Marine Park off the coast of North Sulawesi has a greater number of turtles including the Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtle.
The life span of the green turtle is over 80 years old and can grow up to 1.5 meters in length (5 feet). Green turtles can travel over 2000 kilometers during their lifetime and with most large sea turtles they return to the same beach to lay their eggs. There are many islands within the Bunaken Marine Park where the green turtles lay their eggs, up to 100 to 200 eggs. Only a very small percentage of the hacklings survive to adulthood.
These pictures and video below are of the Green Turtles in the Bunaken National Marine Park in North Sulawesi Indonesia.
