Cooking Classes in Bali

There are a heap of places where you can go to learn how to cook the local Balinese and Indonesianfood in Bali. Some places are actual cooking schools, others are held in the kitchen of large restaurants. Some of the cooking schools include an interesting trip to the food markets early in the morning to buy the ingredients, then head back to the kitchen to show you how to cook. Classes end around lunch time just in time for you to eat the food you have cooked.

Anika Cooking Class is located in Tuba, very close to Kuta. Anika's offer cooking classes specifically for Balinese food and teach both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. They offer class room classes or they also offer private cooking classes at your home or villa.

The Kuta Beach Heritage Hotel offer Cooking Class with the hotel chef including shopping at the traditional markets.

Dean's Bali Cooking Class is a cooking school in Seminyak Bali. Their cooking classes include a trip to a large market in Denpasar. You then head back to the cooking school to learn about the various spices used in Balinese and Indonesian cooking and how to mix the spices. Cooking begins and you learn to cook up to 12 dishes.

Bumbu Bali has been running a cooking school in Tanjung Benoa (close to Nusa Dua) since 1997. The cooking classes are held in the restaurant kitchen which is located in the heart of Tanjung Benoa in the southern area of Bali.

Bamboo Shoots Bali Cooking School is located at Sanur Beach. Classes start at 7am with a trip to the local Sanur Traditional Market.

Ubad Ubud Cooking school is located in Ubud in the hills of Bali. They offer half day cooking classes. The class starts early morning with a visit to the local traditional markets to buy all the ingredients for the cooking.

Bumbu Bali Restaurant located in Ubud have cooking classes starting at 9am and finish at 2pm when you sit down for lunch to enjoy the food you cooked. The class includes a visit to the traditional market in Ubud.
